The short version: I am a full time mum and a part time photographer, specialising in photographing babies, children and families in and around Melbourne. The long version: I have always had a passion for photography; I got my first camera when I was 14 and took classes at high school (back in the dark[room] ages), but never really thought of it as a career option. Instead, I followed my other passion, working with kids, and became a primary school teacher. This was followed by some very rewarding jobs in the not-for-profit sector working with migrant and refugee children and young people. As so often seems to be the case with baby and child photographers it was the birth of my own baby and the thousands of photographs that I subsequently took (and are still taking daily) that made me realise what a love I still have for photography. I also love keeping up to date with the latest technology and software, so a career that combines babies, kids, DSLR photography and great software packages, such as Photoshop and Lightroom, is a dream come true! Being able to capture the smiles, pouts and laughter through the lens has got to be the best job in the world. I have taken numerous courses in advanced photography and portrait photography but nothing beats practice!
